I am Helen and I care about your mental health and wellbeing, as business professionals, as employees in organisations and as people. I promote positive mental health and wellbeing, because it matters.
After working alongside organisations from all industries across private and public sector, I have seen first-hand the impact of mental illness and the significant gaps that exist with supporting people in the workplace. Anxiety and depression have been fellow travellers for much of my life and its affects on life can be tremendously hard, but finding ways to help, to challenge the stigma, to get the right support can be a ray of light when its only darkness.
The truth is that regardless of the funding, efforts and strategic plans from the Government – services are incredibly stretched. Whilst great progress has been made, the pace is simply too slow and the scale of the challenge ahead of organisations to make mental health part of every day is significant.
Mental health stigma
I believe that we all can and should do more to challenge the mental health stigma and that organisations need to take greater responsibility over promoting positive mental health and wellbeing in the work places.
Choice and control
I believe in providing a greater sense of choice and control than medication for those who do suffer from mental ill health, but we should equally open up all opportunities that work to prevent mental illness.
I believe a greater awareness of every day creativity, learning and leadership can help to invigorate mental health and wellbeing.

As a psychologist with a focus on Health Psychology, I incorporate a deep understanding of the psychological and emotional aspects of health and wellbeing, fused together with over a decade of Senior Leadership experience to transform the way companies manage mental health and wellbeing in the workplace.
I also work within the wider community developing cross partnership strategies to address health inequalities and drive sustainable improvements to community, social and health systems, as well as sitting on the board as a Non-Executive Director in Education.
